Common lizard

We spotted this Common Lizard in a shot from 2014 on Instagram by Mike Roberts with the hashtag #nagden. Mike notes that the lizard is not on the proposed development site, but nearby in the ‘sheep field’. Nevertheless, its a great shot of the kind of wildlife that flourishes in the area.

The Wildlife Trusts website has info about this creature including :

Conservation status
Protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981, and classified as a Priority Species in the UK Biodiversity Action Plan.
